Welcome to Imperium Incognita, a small micronation on the internet.

We're still slowly but steadily putting together this new site, but daily life takes place on our forum, where (once you have registered) you can drop by and say hello, ask to become a citizen, or, if you represent another nation, start diplomatic relations.

If you are a little confused about the above, please read on...

What is a Micronation?
A micronation is a very small country, with a very small number of people (especially when compared to most countries on Planet Earth). Sometimes they operate in parallel with existing countries or, thanks to the internet, on their own virtual worlds. We've chosen to exist on a virtual world as it is less hassle and not as crowded with countries as Planet Earth.

What do Micronations do?
Wherever they may be based, micronations try to operate as far as possible as a normal country, with governments ranging from autocratic monarchies to full-blown democracies or anything in between. However, unlike real countries, micronations usually have to be very nice to their citizens, otherwise they tend to go elsewhere very easily. A lot of micronational activity revolves around their governments, but they usually develop their own derivative, imitative or unique cultures.

So what about the Imperium then?
Imperium Incognita is the latest incarnation of a number of micronations dating back to 2000. For the time being, you can see what the remains of all those years of history look like by clicking here for our Historical Index.

The Imperium is a triumvirate monarchy which, when there are sufficient citizens, will have a government that somewhat resembles a federal representative democracy. In the meantime, we're making sure everything works properly, looks pretty and uses a lot of Latin, as somehow it just makes things seem that bit grander.
